Baby Radish Curry

I have been a regular reader of various blogs, long before starting my own and I have tried many dishes from them. This radish curry is one such dish, I tried this out from Mahanandi, I love this dish for its simplicity. It can be done in under 10 mins, tastes great with rotis or rice and best eaten hot. I usually keep the vegetable chopped and ready and do it just before sitting down to eat, have made this so many times, give it a try..

Need To Have
  • Baby Red Radish - 1 cup chopped
  • Garlic - 1 clove chopped
  • Cumin Seeds - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Red Chilli Flakes - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Turmeric Powder - 1/8 teaspoon
  • Curry Leaves - 4 or 5

Method
Heat some oil, add the cumin seeds, when it starts sizzling, add the garlic and saute till it turns golden. Then add the curry leaves, followed by the radish, turmeric powder, chilli flakes and salt. Reduce the heat, cover and cook for not more than 5 mins. Serve it warm.

Sending it to Zesty South Indian Kitchen for the Hearth And Soul Blog Hop event,

to Cooks' Joy for Priya's Healthy Diet - Vegetarian Side Dishes event.

Note
Do not over cook it, the vegetable should retain its crunch.
You can also add some lima beans along with the radish.

  23. This is probably the first really good recipe I have seen that uses radishes as the star ingredient. I rarely use the veggie because there is not a lot of recipes out there. Thanks for sharing this tasty unusual dish-yum!
